Know How Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Injection Mould Technician to work for a well-established designer and manufacturer of surgical equipment in Leeds.
The successful applicant must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to hit the ground running. You must be a strong and confident communicator, be self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team.
About the Position
An opportunity has become available for an Injection Moulding Technician to join our team. This role will be involved in the setting and changing of mould tools, validation of new tooling and the analysis of defect, fixture or machining problems
Responsibilities
- Manufacture products in compliance with the company QMS
- Programming the moulding machine
- Quick and efficient tool changes
- Packing, weighing, labelling of finished goods.
- Process optimisation, and carrying out tool and material trials
- Product troubleshooting and machine and tool maintenance.
- Perform regular quality checks at each stage of the injection moulding process, including 1st offs, last-offs and in process checks.
- Ensure all validated processes are running within the defined scope of the process parameters.
- Working with development teams to introduce new materials, productions or processing technology.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with our health & safety and QMS procedures
Any other reasonable duties which are required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the qualifications, experience and skills for the role:
- Previous plastics injection moulding experience or undergoing or has formal accredited training in plastics processing.
- Knowledge of the properties and processing behaviour of polymer materials.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiar with analytical/diagnostic tools, SPC, 6’s, SMED.
- Experience of tool changes, first & last off approvals & process start-ups.
- Good mechanical aptitude numeracy and literacy skills.
- Experience of Setting machines / Optimising processes / Process trials & validation.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing (desirable)

What we offer
This position offers a competitive salary of up to £30,000 plus 12% Shift Allowance , 4½ working days per week (Monday - Friday) and bonus scheme.
